Play date

After a fun filled week we decided to get the boys together for a play date. It has been so cold these days that I was to sure how Jovie would do, so the mommies were nice enough to watch Josiah for me while I waited for it to get warmer for Jovie.

Met up at founders park and the boys played and wore themselves out. I was a lil sad I didn't get to talk to the ladies much ,but was thankful that I trust them to watch Josiah so he could still have fun.

New Year's Eve

2012 what a great way to end the year with the people that are important to us. We invited a few friends over and family to have a very casual gathering.

We made reservations a The Lazy Dog Cafe for a cozy 9 of us! We figured dinner out and then we would come back to our house and play games and relax and enjoy the company. We made reservations early so that I would have enough time to get ready Jovie ready for bed. She goes to bed between 7:30-8 these days and wakes up around 7:45-8am, she is such a good girl!

The food was delish I would recommend to all, the service was excellent as well. Got home after a full tummy and got Jovie and Josiah ready for bed, although Josiah was gonna stay up with us. He did so good he lasted till midnight!

A couple more friends came over and we played the Xbox, watched the ball drop and just had a nice time with friends that know us so well. We are very causal and relaxed and that's how they are as well.

Midnight came and I kissed my loves to ring in the New Year 2013.

Christmas at Southlands

This was the first year going to Christmas at Southland's ...I was so excited my buddy was gonna sing in the Christmas program!! There Christmas program was witty and to the point and hilarious! We invited C & L to come it was a nice time.

Then after that we headed to Palm Springs to spend Christmas with Jamie's family. It was a nice day , we had lunch and opened more gifts. It was the first time Jovie had met that side of the family and she was a good girl and made a great impression.

Then we were told about this house down the street from Jamie's grandmas house.... It's called the Robot house. You would have to see it to believe it , this place was insane.

Dinner at C & Ls

So C & L invited us and the Burtons over for dinner for no reason ,but to just hang out.
Dinner was delish she always cooks really good, we had meat, potatoes, asparagus and Hawaiian rolls. Yummy.

We exchanged gifts, played on the Xbox and were just being silly as we usually are.

Brooklyn loved her doll that Josiah gave her for Christmas it was handmade by my friend she is so talented!

Dinner w/JP & Soraya

So I invited the Mejias over for dinner to celebrate Sorayas birthday. We haven't know this couple for a long time,but God has brought them into our life for a reason. She is a light to this world...she is warm , Godly woman and is teaching me a lot. We were fortunate to meet them at Southlands and have hit it off since then. We have been over to there house for dinner so I figured I needed to return the favor. It was a blast I made tacos and they brought Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. We played Xbox, talked and enjoyed each others company. I love how they are just down to earth people with a heart for God and family. We have a lot in common with them and have hit it off so well. I know this friendship will blossom into something special.

Josiah was such a good lil boy playing with there son Cyrus who is only 2, but my buddy is so sweet he made him feel at home.

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Every Christmas Eve we spend it with my family and Christmas day with Jamie's it works perfect.

Christmas Eve I made dinner, well some of it. My mom bought this yummy meat and all you do is put it in the oven so that was my kind of dinner! Lol
I made mashed potatoes, dessert and my sis was in charge of making a side dish. My mom is in charge of getting the tamales ...yumm! Look forward to those every year at Christmas time.

This year was going smooth until Jamie & I got a lil bit of food poisoning so it made for a very hard day of cleaning and cooking. We pulled through like troopers, we couldn't cancel and mess up Christmas Eve.

Good ol Pinterest gave me the idea of making a craft with plates and markers. So Josiah & Lexi decorated there plates and we baked them. They enjoyed it so much we will have to make that a tradition. They also made cookies for Santa and decorated them.

Tradition in Guatemala is you eat and open gifts at Midnight ,but we kinda twik it a lil for the kids. We usually let the kids open gifts around 10:30 ish and then we watch a movie till midnight. Then at midnight we give the traditional hug and kiss and wish each other a Merry Christmas.


Christmas Day we wake up and open present from Santa ,but this year Mr Josiah decided to open all his presents from Santa on his own!;( lil stinker

After all fun of exchanging gifts... We headed over to grandma and grandpas house for breakfast and opening of gifts. Then we came home and napped ... Well Jovie did anyways. We played with Josiah's new Xbox it was so much fun. Then we got dressed and ready for dinner at Jamie's uncles house.

This year I got some great gifts....a got a New sewing machine who would have thought I would have ever wanted a sewing machine!!! I still have yet to open it, but my friend Kate said she would help me get started. She is so talented ...she made Jovies first Dollie. Worst case it came with a DVD lol
Mr fifield surprised me with a new printer so awesome, and a mini IPad which will help in getting my daily blogs in. Thanks hunny :)

Happy 7th Bday Buddy

December 20th, 2012 my baby turned 7... How time has flown! I can't believe it you are my world, the light of my life!! You are growing to be such a handsome, warm hearted little boy. You are a mamas boy for sure. My life changed the day you made me a mama!!

On the day of his birthday we play a special song that my mom usto wake us up to on our birthday and we give him a lil something to open. This year we got him a scooter, he is getting to that age where he rides his bike and he needed a scooter to ride with his buddies,
I don't hold back on making him feel special on his bday. I don't consider that spoiling him at all. So I took him to school then I have made it a tradition to have lunch with him on his special day. So I went and got him McDonald's and sat with him and his friends and had lunch!!! He didn't know I was coming so he was really surprised!!!
Later that night we wanted to take him to Farrell's , last year we missed the opening of Farrels by 2 days so we had to take him this year.
So we met up with my sister, Lexi , Cris & Laurent at Farrels it ended up being so much fun and so loud. Jovie fell asleep if u can believe it, there was so much going on she got exhausted I guess!! Lol
Thanks to Laurent & Cris for paying for dinner... U guys have such a warm heart and I love you guys like family.

Buddies Bday Party @Skyzone

After so much playing we finally had picked a place to have Josiah's party. I had researched lots of places, last year we did a swimming party wasn't sure how I could top that. After looking through the Internet I saw skyzone an indoor trampoline place ..how awesome is that!!! So we went down there on one afternoon to check it out and totally loved it. Josiah was thrilled so we knew we had found a winner.  Josiah wanted to make his own guest list, so after letting him know he could only pick 20 of his closet friends. It sure wasn't hard for him to come up with the list. I made his invites and had lots of fun creating them; the theme Lego Star Wars. After getting some cancelations and adjusting the list we were all set. I loved the fact that I didn't have to do any set up or clean up. Plus it was fun for the whole family....adults and kids got to jump.

After the party was over since it was only for 2 hours we came back to our house and opened gifts at a slower pace.My buddy was so cute he took his time looked at all the cards first then enjoyed each gift even if it was clothes. He is such a good kid...very thoughtful and thankful for what he gets.
